St James’ church services have resumed at 10.30am on Sundays, but with social distancing and a limit on numbers. If you would like to come along please let us know and we will contact you to book you in.
The church is open for private prayer on Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10-12 a.m.
Our church is now able once again to host Baptisms (Christenings) and Weddings, following the change in lockdown rules on July 4th. These would be with a limited number of guests, and without one or two of the normal elements. However some couples and families may welcome the opportunity for a simpler service, and we would be very happy to discuss with you how to make it a special and memorable day.
Our planned events for the 600th anniversary of St James’ are sadly on hold. Please keep an eye on our 1420-2020 Celebrations page for updates when lockdown has been lifted.
St James has gone online during the lockdown – services are streamed live at 10.30 a.m. every Sunday from our You Tube channel, and there is a regular flow of news, prayer requests and resources to keep us praying and growing together as God’s church.
Please use the resources in the Virtual St James area of our website, and if you would like join the church email or WhatsApp group, please use our contact form. Both our churches have a Facebook page, which is another great way to stay in touch if you are on Facebook.
If you know someone who would value a friendly phone call, or needs any
help with getting shopping and essentials, please do get in touch using the Contacts page.
Watch this video to find out how we’re tackling this as a church community.
We are learning as we go along how to stay in contact with each other, worship together via the wonders of modern technology, and continue to pray and live as the body of Christ through this testing time. In the meantime, if you have any concerns please ring David (422286) or Ruth (579602). God bless you.
